Cookie Policy

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently and provide information to website owners. We also use related technologies such as localStorage, sessionStorage, and browser fingerprinting.

2. How We Use Cookies

UEFNMarketplace uses cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:

Strictly Necessary

These are essential for the website to function and cannot be disabled. They include:

  • Session cookies: Maintain your login session
  • Security cookies: Protect against cross-site request forgery (CSRF)
  • Theme storage: localStorage key uefn-theme — stores your dark/light preference
  • Cookie consent: localStorage key uefn-cookie-consent — records your cookie preferences

Functional

These enable enhanced functionality and personalization:

  • Preference storage: Remembers your settings between visits
  • Cart persistence: Maintains your shopping cart across sessions

Security & Fraud Prevention

These are used to protect the platform and its users from abuse and fraud:

  • Browser fingerprinting: We collect non-personally-identifiable browser characteristics (canvas rendering, WebGL renderer, audio context, hardware concurrency, installed fonts, screen resolution) to create a hashed fingerprint. This is used exclusively for fraud detection, rate limiting, and ban evasion prevention — never for advertising.
  • IP logging: Your IP address is recorded in security logs for rate limiting, abuse detection, and compliance purposes. IP data is retained for up to 12 months.
  • Rate limit tokens: Short-lived identifiers used to enforce fair-use limits on platform actions

Analytics

These help us understand how visitors interact with our website. All analytics tags are gated behind your consent via Google Consent Mode v2 — nothing is set until you click Accept:

  • Page views: Track which pages are most popular
  • Traffic sources: Understand where visitors come from
  • User behavior: Analyze how users navigate the site

3. Third-Party Technologies

Some technologies are placed by third-party services that appear on our pages. All analytics and tracking services below are gated behind your consent via Google Consent Mode v2:

Analytics & Tracking

  • Google Analytics 4 (G-4K5W8ZGNCL): Traffic and behavior analytics loaded directly from Google. Sets _ga (2 years) and _ga_<container> (2 years) cookies when analytics consent is granted. Collects anonymized IP, page views, device type, referrer. Respects Google Consent Mode v2 — runs in cookieless-ping mode until you accept. Provided by Google LLC (USA). See Google Privacy Policy.
  • Ahrefs Analytics: Privacy-friendly web analytics used to measure organic traffic performance and SEO. Loads analytics.ahrefs.com/analytics.js and may set a first-party _ahrefs_analytics_id cookie (13 months) when analytics consent is granted. No cross-site tracking, no ad targeting. Provided by Ahrefs Pte. Ltd. (Singapore). See Ahrefs Privacy Policy.

Essential Third Parties

  • Stripe: Payment processing — may set cookies for fraud prevention and payment flow
  • Authentication providers: Social login services may set cookies upon sign-in
  • Google Fonts: Font delivery via CDN (no tracking cookies; loaded with font-display: swap)

4. Managing Cookies

You can control and manage cookies in several ways:

Cookie Consent Settings

You can update your cookie preferences at any time:

Note: Strictly Necessary and Security cookies cannot be disabled as they are required for core platform functionality and user protection.

Browser Settings

Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can:

  • View what cookies are stored and delete them individually
  • Block third-party cookies
  • Block all cookies from specific sites
  • Delete all cookies when you close your browser

Please note that if you choose to block or delete cookies, some features of the website (including login persistence and cart functionality) may not function properly.

5. Cookie Duration

Session cookies: Temporary — expire when you close your browser.

Persistent cookies: Remain on your device for a set period (usually 1–12 months) or until you delete them.

Security logs (IP + fingerprint): Retained server-side for up to 12 months.

6. Your Rights

Under GDPR and CCPA, you have rights regarding the data we collect. For information on exercising those rights, including the right to access or delete your security data, please see our Privacy Policy or contact us at privacy@uefnmarketplace.com.

7. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.

8. Contact Us
